APS, or Adult Protective Services, is a State-mandated program that accepts, responds to, and investigates allegations of elder and dependent adult abuse and neglect.  The presentation on APS will address why there is a need for APS, recognizing the different types of abuse and neglect, reporting requirements, the APS response to reports, and community resources.

Patrick Jenison is a Supervisor with Adult Services/Family Self-Sufficiency who has worked for the County of Orange Social Services Agency for 16 years in both APS and Children and Family Services.  His current assignment is with Policy and Quality Assurance and includes drafting policies and procedures, data collection and analysis, and preparing reports at both for both the Agency and the State on department performance and outcome measures.
